Access your mail via Mac Mail

Use this guide if you have set up your mailbox with us, but would prefer to access your emails through Mac Mail.

 

Before you begin

Make sure you can access mail directly through Webmail using your username and password. If you’re unsure what you used for the password, you can always reset it through moonfruit.com > Account > Domains > Email and settings > Change settings.

 

Adding your mailbox

  • Open up Mac Mail and go to ‘File’ > ‘Add new account’. Then select ‘Add Other Mail Account’ and ‘Continue’.
  • Fill in your details as shown in the below table, then click ‘Create’.

 

Full Name This should be the name you want your emails to appear to have been sent from
Email Address Once you have setup your mailbox you put the full email address in here
Password This is the password you used when the mailbox was created

 

  • You will see a message ‘Account must be manually configured’, just click ‘Next’ to carry on.
  • First you will need to complete the ‘Incoming Mail Server Info’ using the following information:

 

Account Type Choose IMAP or POP
Mail Server

If you selected ‘Account type’ as IMAP: imap.yourdomain.com 

If you selected ‘Account type’ as POP: pop.yourdomain.com

Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name.

Username Enter the full email address for your selected mailbox (e.g. info@yourdomain.com)
Password This is the password used when creating the mailbox

 

  • A message is displayed that says ‘Additional account information required’, just click ‘Next’.
  • Fill out the ‘Incoming Mail Server Info’ using this information:

 

Port

If you selected ‘Account type’ as IMAP:  Enter 143 in the ‘Port:’ field (993 if using SSL)

If you selected ‘Account type’ as POP: Enter 110 in the ‘Port:’ field (995 if using SSL)

Authentication Choose 'Password'

 

  • Now you will need to complete the ‘Outgoing Mail Server Info’ with the information in the table below, then click ‘Create’.

 

SMTP Server

smtp.yourdomain.com

Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name.

Username Enter the full email address for your selected mailbox (e.g. info@yourdomain.com)
Password This is the password used when creating the mailbox

 

  • Another message is displayed that says ‘Additional account information required’, just click ‘Next’ and add the below details:

 

Port

Enter 25 in the ‘Port:’ field (465 if using SSL)

Authentication Choose 'Password'

 

  • Your mail should now be delivered directly to the Mac Mail application.

 

Errors

If you encounter any errors when setting up your account, try substituting the incoming and outgoing servers with the following:

 

Incoming Mail Server

mail.gandi.net

Enter 143 in the ‘Port:’ field (993 if using SSL)

Outgoing Mail Server

mail.gandi.net

Enter 110 in the ‘Port:’ field (995 if using SSL)
