Access your mail via iPhone/iPad

This guide is for setting up your mailboxes on Apple operating systems iPhone and iPad.

Before you begin

Make sure you can access mail directly through Webmail using your username and password. If you’re unsure what you used for the password, you can always reset it through moonfruit.com > Account > Domains > Email and settings > Change settings.

Adding your mailbox

  • From your phone/tablet, go to ‘Settings’.
  • Choose ‘Mail, Contacts, and Calendars’ and click ‘Add account’.
  • From the provider list, choose 'Other'.
  • Under 'Mail' (at the top of screen) select the 'Add Mail account' option.

Name Use anything you want to call the account
Address Enter your mailbox email address, eg info@yourdomain.com
Password Add the password used to login to your webmail account.
Description

Leave as the default text, or something more relevant/unique.

  • Click ‘Next' and decide whether to use IMAP or POP. For this guide, we’ll be using POP, but IMAP shouldn’t differ from the following instructions.
  • The ‘Name’, ‘Email Address’ and ‘Description’ fields should already be populated with the details provided in the last panel.
  • Add your Incoming Mail settings:

Host Name

POP.yourdomain.com (replace your domain with your actual domain name)

User Name Enter your mailbox email address, eg info@yourdomain.com
Password Add the password used to login to your webmail account.
Port

110 (if prompted)

  • Add your Outgoing Mail settings:

Host Name SMTP.yourdomain.com (replace your domain with your actual domain name)
User Name Enter your mailbox email address, eg info@yourdomain.com
Password Add the password used to login to your webmail account.
Port

25 (if prompted)

  • Click 'Save' and you may get an error message saying: "Secure connection failed. The certificate may not be valid." This relates to our certificate being registered for the domain 'gandi.net' - our domain name registrar. It doesn’t match your domain name, hence the error you will see.
  • Don’t worry though, it won’t affect the set up process and ignoring this error does not make your email less secure.
  • Just click ‘Continue’ if it pops up for either incoming or outgoing mail.
  • If you see 'Details' pop up when confirming the server details, feel free to check the certificate then press 'Accept'.
  • The account will then be set up. If you have any further problems please refer to your iPhone manual, or the Apple website.
